A Houthi landmine has killed a child and injured three adults in Taiz, military sources told Al Sahwa website.
The landmine exploded as the passengers car ran over it in Yakhtel in the east of Taiz city causing the casualties. Houthi militia planted roads and villages with hundreds of landmines before the fled away ahead of the advancing army months ago. The army has so far unearthed dozens of landmines from public roads but many landmines remain a threat that scares displaced civilians away from thinking of return to their homes.
Government sources accuse the Shia Islamist extremists of planning nearly a quarter million landmines across Yemen so far.
